iMac Successfully Booting Windows XP

March 13th, 2006 by George Burnett

Supposedly this guy has figured out a way to boot Microsoft Window XP on his iMac, though it isn’t fully functional from what I can see.

Pictures here…

UPDATE:

It seems that he has actually gotten this to work. Read all of the comments to get an idea of what is next to come. If Narf2006 is to collect the $12,000 prize money for completing this task he has to post a full how-to here. Narf2006 has already posted the “done” post to the forums here which you should ALL be following if you want to keep up-to-date on these momentous affairs.

UPDATE: Mar 14

Last night http://forum.onmac.net/ site went down due to bandwidth limitations. Narf2006 has submitted his “how-to” to the appropriate people and we are waiting to hear back from the officials if Narf2006 indeed found the solution to running Windows on a Mac.

As of now the site reports that they are working hard on getting the site backup as fast as possible. At one point the URL was pointing to an .EDU URL which probably means that they haved move the site to another server to relieve their bandwidth problems from here on out.
